  • 1x 100g skeins Cascade Heritage Silk (4ply weight, 85% Merino Superwash Wool, 15% Mulberry Silk, 437m/400yds) in Italian Plum (5633)
  • 4mm hook (US G)


Tension

2.5 shells and 12 rows in pattern to 10cm/4in using 4mm hook (or size needed to obtain tension)

So good I’ve made 3

A really well thought out pattern that just works seamlessly. So far I’ve made it in 4ply, DK, and an aran weight. Not one of the tiny (only useful as a handkerchief ) shawls but one I’ve been thrilled to gift to loved ones. Works up speedy too!
Blocks well to create a professional looking piece. Love it!

Gift for my mum

This was one of the first shawls I made from the Crochet Project and I found the repeat pattern very rhythmic and easy to follow. I used a variegated yarn and it looked stunning. It was very quick to make and my mum loves it

I adore this shawl! I made the DK version in quite a plump DK and it worked out brilliantly. The repeat is easily memorized, but takes just enough concentration to keep you engaged in the project - a perfect mindful project.
I was fairly new to crochet when I made this (which probably explains me using DK rather than 4-ply!), but I was delighted with the result.

Beautiful and fail-safe!

I've used this pattern to make a few shawls (all for me!), using both 4-ply and dk yarn. Both versions work up beautifully and the shawls are lovely to wear. The pattern is helpfully repetitive so it's pretty simple but not so much that you lose interest. I make a lot of shawls but this is the pattern I keep coming back to.
