  • 3.5mm (US E/4) hook
  • 1 removable stitch marker

Tension
20 sts and 24 rows in dc in the back loop only to 10 cm/4 in using 4mm hook (or size needed to achieve tension)

Lovely pattern

I really enjoyed making this shawl, really clear pattern, easy to memorise and relaxing to crochet. It opened up beautifully during blocking and it’s a lovely size to wear.

Very Wearable

I have made 3 Doris shawls so far in completely different colours and I have kept 2 as its so easy to wear. Its a lovely shape and works up quickly which is always very satisfying.

Doris!

I've very nearly finished my Doris shawl, and I was going to keep it for myself, but yesterday, my Grandma Doris had a fall and broke her hip, so I think I'll get it posted off to her instead as it is her namesake!
This pattern was easy to follow (although as I'm not a complete expert, I did have to look up how to do the "crossed treble" stitch for the border part.) and it's a nice mix of changing stitches without having to concentrate too much!

I love this shawl so much

Doris might be my favourite Crochet Project pattern - I love her. The shape makes it really wearable (I love a crescent shawl) and the lace panels make it such an interesting pattern to make. I've made two for myself and one for a friend, all using lovely hand-dyed yarn, and they've all been beautiful. The pattern is clear and easy to understand and if you want to make the shawl larger, it's really easy to extend the pattern :)
